The Daily Scripts

‘Tis the season of short, sporadic windows to work on your startup and panettone.

This post helps you with the short windows. And the best panettone is, of course, from the “panettone king” himself, here.

We’ve talked about transitions (The Regroup System) before - the most overlooked skill for people starting a business on the side. It attacks the question - “how do you make progress on a startup during short, sporadic, inconsistent windows of time?”

There was a lot of interest in TRS, so I’ve simplified it into something I’ve used for a few months now called The Daily Scripts. A guide that ensures you get the most out of your working sessions.

Here’s mine:

I use Notion for my internal operating system, so the links go to my mission statement, task/project page, and a running diary of what will make each day a success. I recommend each, if you’re building your IOS.

I end each day with this script:

Feel free to edit the steps as you’d like. Some people add mantras or 15 push ups or they read a passage on customer first or that quote from E.L. Doctorow. What matters is that you do it each time you start and end your day. This will get your nervous system ready to shift gears.

Also, scripting the start and end creates a feedback loop on your day. The only way to improve anything is with a feedback loop.

Try this for a few weeks. You’ll see you’re actually working 60 seconds after your butt hits the chair.
